Western Digital Internal Drive Warranty

Hello!

I just bought completely new, sealed Black Caviar internal hard drive from Ebay. The seller was physical and not business person. He said that the drive has 5 years warranty. The production date is July 2011. Could you tell me what do I need to have to RMA drive if something goes wrong? Do I need some proof of purchase (I didn’t get one since I bought it on Ebay) or the serial number is enough for RMA process?

Unfortunately Ebay is not and authorize Western Digital reseller, if the drive is under warranty they will replace it, however if the warranty by any chance is not correct or has been expired WD wont’ replace the unit. Check the warranty on the link below:
