I have setup the my book live duo on my home network. I have updated the firmware to the latest version of the updates show. 

I have also requested to register web access thru the device portal yesterday. 

my question is

How long (days? hours? weeks?) does it take the registration email to be sent to my inbox so I can take advanage of using the device remotely?

It should take a couple seconds. Go to wd2go.com and try to log in with the email you registered with. Enter a password, click log in and it should tell you the password is incorrect and prompt you to change it. Hope this helps.
