I was inputting my WPA key this afternoon on my new WDTV live. I got about 2/3 of the way through it, and could not find the pipe character ( “|”, not a capital i). Needless to say, I could not progress past this point. How can I finish inputting my WPA key? Getting a new device should not entail me changing my key to appease it.
I tried this as well and was unable to enter a pipe either - however to WDs credit, its a very rarely used character and its not surprising that it wasn’t included - I don’t think i’ve ever seen a non-keyboard interface that includes it (cell phones, consoles, etc.). Your only real option would be to change your key. You might also consider leaving an idea in the ideas section (suggesting that they add the pipe character). If your key is a WPA key you could also try getting the numerical value of the key and entering that instead as most routers will accept this value in place of the actual key.
