Wdckit format: "Operation is not supported" - "(Error code: -53)"

This error comes from attempting to convert my “WDC WD40EZRX-00SPEB0” from 512e to 4kn.

In “WDCKit_Users_Guide.pdf”, I see “ATA format is only supported on L-H and L-W products.”. No clue what those “products” even are.

Is this method of “format” different from any kind of “mkfs.*” format? In other words, does the conversion still stand after I create a GPT->LVM->LUKS->BTRFS setup? Like is the conversion at a hardware level rather than software?

I have not because it may not be a bug, but a feature (works-as-intended), in that my model is not supported based on what I mentioned.

Are you suggesting I still bother “support” with this given the information I provided?
