Please help.

I had WD5000BEVT 500gb which is failed to open, but it was detected in PC.

Scanned by Data Lifeguard - Quick test result… Status Code = 07, Failure checkpoint =97

I’d bring this HDD to the IT shop and it says it need to do recovery and it cost about RM500-RM1000.

Is that true?

What are the other alternative to enable to open HDD in PC?

It may be possible to still extract the data utilizing data recovery software. There are several kinds of Data Recovery software available. If you do a web search for Data Recovery it will yield plenty of data recovery software options.
