i recently purchased 2 new WD40EZAX drives to replace an internal HD making odd sounds. When installed and in “Disk Management” the drive shows up as 3.725T which is good. but there are 2 “Unallocated” partitions the first partition i can create a primary partition but the second partition when right click is all greyed out. I cannot delete the partition and try to make one partition.
i have done this sort of thing many times this model of HD seems to be different???

Hi, thanks for the follow up. i eventually worked out the problem. the drive came formatted to MBR so 2T was a maximum. i have not sen this before so i had to convert to GPT then it all worked fine. Was certainly confusing.
