Hello,
Does the following hard drive contain a non-volatile cache?
WDC WD30EZRX-00MMMB0
Should the cache of this hard disk get flushed/discarded when restarting Windows (without turning off the PC)? I’m using Windows 8 Pro 64bit.
Thanks.

*all* modern hardrives (anything in the last 10-15 years?) have cache.
And yes, the cache will certainly be flushed when leaving Windows for any reason.
I meant a non-volatile cache, which means that it will be kept even at power-off (and reset?)
I think most “normal” hard drives don’t have it; most of them should loose the cache at power-off (and reset).
I would like to know about this model in particular, and if you have other suggestions for determining if a hard drive has a non-volatile cache, they’re welcome.
