WD25EZRX too noisy - how to set the Quiet seek mode only?

My drive is too noisy when seeking. The drive’s specs say there are two seek mode: Quiet seek mode and Performance seek mode. How can I make my HDD to work only in the Quiet seek mode?

Don’t think the two seek modes are meant to be changed by the user.

try ‘hdparm’. it’s native in linux, in windows you need to install cygwin first. examples incl. ‘too noisy’ solution: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hdparm
