WD2000FYYZ - nasty noise

Hello!

My new WD2000FYYZ while idle constantly knocks like this  https://www.sendspace.com/file/uomcjx :angry:

Usually it is one triple tap 3-4 times per minute, but sometimes a series of taps 10-15 minutes.

What is it? :confounded:

Disc bought a month ago, is working properly, SMART - ok.

Windows 7.1, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3

Of course I was doing all of this on the first day of use. Even the HDD installed in the vertical position :slight_smile:

But my sound is not like anything.

Try to find another system unit on the other motherboard.

Are you using in an external case?

It may be that the drive needs a little more power to work stable

Did you have another computer to connect the drive and test it… backup everything just in case
