WD10EALS Seen by BIOS not OS

I have a WD10EALS 1.0TB/32MBcache boot drive that stopped working on an XP machine.  I tried to look at it on a Win 7 machine that I have Data Lifeguard on and can see it in BIOS, but not by the OS Disk Manager or Data Lifeguard.  I can feel it spinning and getting warm, but I do not detect a tell-tale “chatter” of accessing.

Thanks for your attention,

Steve

You could try using another SATA cable, but if the problem continues the hard drive could be faulty.

    • *Yeah, I think you’re right. I tried that and used another HD to verify the connection. Looks like I’ll have to write an RMA. Thanks anyhow- Steve
