I have purchased a WD Ultra My passport 1TB HD for recording TV from my Samsung UE32h5500. The TV does not seem to recognise that the HD is plugged in. I tried it on my otehr Samnsung TV and it worked staright away as it did on the PC.
I recorded some TV from the alternative TV and then tried to play it back on the h5500. It recognised it for a moment then stopped working.
I have tried speaking ot Samung in case it is a TV problem but am getting nowhere. Any ideas appreciated
How much power does your television supply to the USB ports? If it is unable to provide 900mA on USB 3.0 or 500mA on USB 2.0 then you may need an external USB hub in order to provide enough power.
