Can any one tell me if a WD TV Live Streaming Media Player is available with volume control included in the remote control.

In the HARDWARE remote:  No.

In the SOFTWARE Remote App:  Yes.

Thanks for the reply, all I now need to make my day is to find the “app” works on my android mobile.

Am off to check if its possible.

I emailed the good news to my friend (the delighted owner of a WD TV Live Streaming Media Player) but in his  reply he mentioned he can not get this facility on his android mobile.

Please don’t feel I am doubting your advice, but before I search on ebay for a early model iphone I wonder if his version of software (if that’s what you call it) is the correct version.

I take it, that you’ve read the Requirements ?

Requirements:

  • You need a WD TV Live with firmware 1.05.18 or later
    or a WD TV Live Hub with firmware 3.01.19 or later.
  • You must have an iPhone, iPod touch®, or iPad® running iOS 4.0 or higher, or an Android device with OS 2.1 or higher.
  • Your mobile device must be connected to the same wireless network as your WD TV Live or WD TV Live Hub (Your media player may be connected to your network via Ethernet port or wirelessly).
