WD TV Live - Question

Hello everyone, that’s my first post on this forum so please forgive me if made some mistake in posting this new thread. Besides my english is poor…

I’m willing to buy an WD TV Live, and when i was in store and looking at the player i saw that the one at the store had a bit different serial number than the one i found on the internet site.

That’s how it looks:
WDBAAP0000NBK-00 - found at the store

WDBAAP0000NBK-EESN - found on the internet site.

Does anybody knows the difference between those two serial numbers. Are these two different hardware version or I don’t need to care about that at all?

Regards!

I think the 00 vs EESN is different regions.   Probably just a different power supply.

Thanks for reply. Probably not because both are available in the same country. This must be something else.

Well, it may not be power supply related, but I was definitely correct about it being regional:

I found this, by the way, by just searching WD’s website…

Americas: WDBAAN0000NBK-NESN

EMEA: WDBAAP0000NBK-EESN

APAC - NTSC : WDBAAN0000NBK-SESN

APAC - PAL: WDBAAP0000NBK-SESN

Japan : WDBAAN0000NBK-JESN

Australia:  WDBAAP0000NBK-AESN

It may just be regulatory compliance.

According to other websites, The -00 is the “MODEL NUMBER”.  The -XXXX is the “PART NUMBER.”

So, if all you’re ordering is a -00, you have no way of knowing which regionalization it is…

So there’s no need to look for a specific model. Thanks for your help!
