WD TV Live Plus stopped playing mpeg-2

I have been using my WDLTV+ to connect to a mythtv backend for about a year now, and watched many SD cable recordings from my Hauppauge 1600 TV capture card.  Recordings are MPEG-2, and start to play…after about 6 seconds the video freezes and the audio shortly thereafter breaks up.  The time indicator will continue to run for about 30 seconds, and then restart at 0 (with no change the video image or audio).

I can play any other files types on my network, just not the MPEG-2.  If I re-encode the files, no problem to play over the network. If I try to play the file directly from the network share (and not the media server view), NO-GO.  If I copy the mpeg-2 file to a usb drive, same result, playback hangs after about 6 seconds.  I can just press the back button, and the system responds.

I have reset and power cycled the unit with no change.

Scratching my head…any ideas why this might be happening, and more importantly, is there anything I can do to get it working again?

Thanks,

Weird, if the same type of mpeg-2 used to play before, are sure you didn’t change the way the mpeg-2 are being created?

Thanks.  You are right, definately something in funny about this.  Here is the media info for an MPEG that DOES play
