Wd tv live + mybook world + mkv?

Hi, I already have a mybook world which doesn’t support mkv and is generally mediocre in the DLNA area. I am thinking of getting a WD TV live.

Questions:

  1. Does the WD TV live connect to NAS through DLNA or will it simply see it as a network drive (would prefer the latter)

  2. Will the combination of 2 devices allow for mkv streaming?

  1. Either or both, as the Media Player provides you the option to select between Network Shares and Media Servers.

  2. Yes, as long as the encoding of the MKV file itself is supported by the WD TV Live as explained on the following link:
