Is it safe to use the WD TV Live Hub to store general files as a backup? I only use mine for music and have 980GB free space on the disk. Is this a good use? Will it affect the WD TV or will the WD TV do anything weird to my files?
It’s no more or less safe than using any other NAS-like device – just be aware that you may not be satisfied with the performance, as moving files to / from across the network can be pretty slow.
Also, every time you boot, the Hub will spend that much more time indexing the contents of the drive, which can significantly increase its boot-up time…
