WD Security application is not working effectively

Hi Geeks

Greetings,

We are using WD My Book Duo in our organization.

We installed the WD My Book Duo as an external USB storage device in one of our Server and shared the device for Centralized storage facility.

We installed and updated all the three WD application like WD smart Ware WD utility and WD security application.

For securing the disk from the intruders we protected the disk with some password using WD security application.

And we checked from our side whether the device is locked after the password is provided its end with unsuccessful.

We able to open the device and access the device even its connected to some other system. And we didn’t find the effectiveness of password we provided.

So am requesting you to help me how to restrict the disk access from unauthorized users?

Is there any application is available for this? Please let me know

Hi,

The WD Security software is designed for local use only. You won’t be able to set the security on the unit if the drive is connected to a server.

Let’s see if any of the users can share some information about a third party app that might help on this case.
