Hi - newbie, here
I assume that if i use ‘wired connex’ into my SMP, I can not use the Android App over WiFi. Is there a workaround for this as the player is hidden away in a bedroom cabinet, where the usual remote won’t work…?

As long as the wired connection is on the same network as the WiFi it will be OK.
Wired or wireless it doesn’t matter as long as it’s on the same subnet and workgroup in my experience. Hoping they add Amazon at some point so I can actually get some use out of it. Usually use the Roku 3 for streaming even Netflix even though netflix client on the wdtv (webkit window I think?) is better although sluggish.
Can anyone tell me how to access/why there doesn’t seem to be an “options” button in the App?
It would be very helpful for manually getting file media info/metadata…
The “Home” buttun is in the place of the “Options” button on the physical remote.

There is.
It’s in the Swipe-tab on the right edge.
