WD Red WD30EFRX Circuit Boards - Revision Differences

Hi,

I have two WD30EFRX Drives with different circuit boards on it.

One with Rev A and one with Rev P1.

What is the difference and what was improved ?

Thanks

Regards,

Ha, unfortunately the Support told me that there is

no difference and I can use both drives with their different boards together.

It´s not the first time i use disk drives and i´m not stupid so the support is kidding me…

So, yes, I know that there are differences and if you believe some internet rumors, then the

NASware 3.0 was only distributed with boards on REV P1 and only in later versions the REV As have been

patched by firmware to function with NASware 3.0.

So the board design itself is different, the bios is different and I don´t want different drives in my environment.

I want the drives with a reliable board with a fixed revision and not the old (maybe crappy one) so please WDC

use my request to contact me for a clear information why I should or shouldn´t use a REV A or REV P1 board…

cincerely.
