WD Red Plus 4 TB beeping

I have a 4 TB WD Red Plus, WD40EFZX-68AWUN0, date 30 Dec 2021 (fw 81.00B81). It only has about 3 months worth of power on hours and recently started making a strange noise. It’s like a half beep, “bep” occurring at random intervals when the drive is idle. It’s quite loud and annoying.

All the SMART parameters are fine, I have ran all SMART tests and they all pass without errors.

Can’t really record the sound since it’s very random, sometimes I hear it 2 times in 5 seconds and sometimes once in 30 minutes. Since it seems to be coming only when the drive is idle I suspect it’s someting to do with head parking, but the timer is set at 300 seconds so that doesn’t really add up.

Anyone else experienced this? Hard to record the sound since it’s very random.

I also have an older WD40EFZX-68AWUN0, date 25 Feb 2021 (fw 81.00A81) which is about a year old now and that one does not “bip”.

I don’t think I would be able to get it replaced since it’s working fine apart from the sound.
