My WD Passport was working fine one minute then not the next. Literally within the space of one minute, it stopped being recognized when I would plug in the USB cable.
The light will come on, the drive will spin but it is not being detected in My Computer or Manager.
I reinstalled the device but Windows says it can’t load the drivers. I get this message:
“This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)”
I’ve also tried unisntalling, reinstalling, disabling and enabling to no avail.
I have tried other USB ports, cables and the like. It will work in my desktop but not my laptop and I use this drive on the go with my laptop. The WD Passport is very gently handled and cared for.
Any help would be appreciated.
