I have been using the Passport SE to back up data files from my laptop, and use it about once a week, disconnecting it after backup.     However, with the drive not connected, several operations continue to run, and they take up a lot of CPU.  These are WDSC.exe and WDFME.exe.    What can I do to increase the efficiency of my laptop when the drive is not engaged?    Do these have to remain running all the time?
