WD passport not detected on windows 7

Hi Guys,

I bought a new WD My Passport Essential today, when tried to connect it to my laptop with windows7 OS the drive is not detected. Im just hearing a ticking sounds inside and a white light is blinking.

please help…

Clicking sounds most of the time equals bad hard drive. :confounded:, but since you have a new hard drive, be sure to connect the passport directly to the computer, avoid using any extension USB cables or USB hubs.

Try to connect the drive to another computer, just to see what happens…
