WD Passport (lost ability to set password)

I was unable to access my drive last night so I just formatted it. Unfortunately this has cleared EVERYTHING including the password set up so I cannot set a new password.

I’ve looked around but I haven’t been able to find a download to replace the Set Up files, so while I can use my drive as mass storage it is no longer password protected.

Please let know if you have a solution.

Hello,

Depending on the model number of your drive, you should be able to download the WD Security app from the WD Support site.

See if the following link helps:
http://support.wdc.com/cat_Products.aspx?ID=3&lang=en

Select your unit from the list and click on downloads and it will give you the WD Security for Windows.
