WD Passport - Can't "erase" - button grayed out

I have a My Passport SE for Mac. I can’t get it to back up. Apple suggested I erase it and I am trying to do so. However, the “erase” button in disk utility is grayed out and unclickable. Can anyone help me please??

Hi joceeb,

Make sure you are selecting the disk itself in the disk utility not the partition of the drive.
