You didn’t mention the OS. For Windows Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva might work. There are paid programs that are try and buy. You can try booting from a Linux Live CD that sometimes works. TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk might fix it.
