WD My Passport too full, now wont load

I have an old WD My Passport (password protected) that has worked well for years. Recently, I filled up all 2TB and is full. But now my PC wont load it, freezes. I tried WD Drive Utilities but it says “Invalid Password” but I know it is not. HELP anyone?!!
