WD My Passport For Mac WDLBPG Issues

Greetings,

I have owned a 2TB WD My Passport For Mac WDLBPG since mid-2018 and have used it routinely for Time Machine backups and other file storage (Photos/iTunes libraries, Garageband projects/files, Logic Pro X projects/files, other WAVs etc).

Recently, it stopped showing up on my desktop. I tried all the basic troubleshooting things found online. It registers in the WD Disc Utilities App and passes the SMART test but will not go though all the way on the other two tests. When I have the drive in the USB it powers up normally, the LED is showing “activity”.

Last spring I updated my OS to Mojave, to run Logic Pro X 10.5.1. Its the minimum requirement so I couldn’t get by on High Sierra, which is what I had prior to purchasing Logic for recording. Today I noticed in the user guide for the drive it “may not be supported”.
