WD My Passport Essential USB3 500GB disk not spinning up

Yesterday, when I wanted to use my hd, I plug it in and the disk does not spin up. I even listened to it when I plugged it in, I couldn’t hear anything from it. The only thing that happens is that the led lights up and nothing else. I used it last week and no problems and I have also used the same wire that came with the hard drive.

Should I take the hard drive to a warranty repair or is there something that I could do?

Hello,

Before you request a replacement, can you test your drive using a different computer also a different USB cable.

So it seems that you bought on of these time bombs also.  Mine had problems from day one so I never kept any

thing important on it.  But as I suspected when it went it went with no warning.  Poof goodbye info.
