WD my passport essential smartware(mac)

Hey Forum!

I recently bought a wd my passport essential( preformat is NTFS) and i reformat it to HFS+J. When I open the smartware, installed it, it works perfectly, but then, when I eject and the next day plug in again, i need to install the smartware again. why is this so? Is it normal or something is wrong?

I am using Mac OS X 10.6.4.

I’m not sure why you are having that issue. I would make sure that you are using the latest version of SmartWare. You can get the latest 1.2.2.5 version from our downloads page using the link below. I would also try running First Aid on your internal Mac drive to make sure that the internal drive doesn’t have any errors.
