Hi, 

Good evening everyone. WD My Passport Essential 500GB external Hard disk is not working, I dont know what is the reason. But it is showing a disk but when we want to open it, it is displaying to Format the disk,even if i want to format it,not going to be formatted. Can u suggest me possible solution for this… pls…:cry:

I recommend running a diagnostic using Western Digital’s Data Lifeguard Diagnostics Tool.

Also make sure that your drive is plugged in directly to the USB port on your computer and that you are not using a USB Hub.
