WD My Passport 3.0 gives time to time a '3.0' speed in windows 8

Hi you all,

I tried many forums and many times to hit google with my problem, but I can’t find a solution. I have a WD My Passport usb 3.0 500gb. Since I upgraded my laptop to windows 8 (it’s a sony vaio laptop), I sometimes get a usb 3.0 speed with an average of 100 MB/sec, but too often I also get the usb 2.0 speed between the 28 MB/sec and 35 MB/sec. What is happening and how can I solve this? 

The device manager gives no errors and I already updated with the WD smartware my portable disk and drivers.

Hello,

I’ll recommend you to update the USB 3.0 drivers of the computer to make sure that they are up to date.

How to update those 3.0 drivers? I mean, they are included with windows 8 and windows 8 says they are up to date.
