I download the WD My Cloud GPL soure code gpl-source-wd_my_cloud-03.03.02-165.zip from http://support.wd.com/product/download.asp?groupid=904&sid=211&lang=en.

Follow the instruction by the kernel_3.2.26.28/wd/README, I change some kernel configuration.

After make code successfully, I get the new kernel image file uImage.
How can I load the new kernel image to WD My Cloud ?

I always thought this might be interesting, but did not dare…

The boot image seems to be the file “/boot/uImage” ca. 3.8 MB size.

I just wonder how long the make process in MyCloud did run and whether it generated a uImage file of about that size?

Good luck and please let us know if it did boot?

Has anybody else ever tried to build uImage?

I never was successful with that and am quite sure that the instructions given by WD are plain wrong :frowning:
