WD My Cloud EX4100 change (upgrade) disks

Hi there!
I have an EX4100 with 2x4TB drives working correctly.

What I want is to remove those drives and install 2x6TB that I already bought (6TB WD60EFPX-68C5ZN0).

I understand that it is a simple process, but I want to confirm it with you first.

the nas has 2 empty hard drive bays.

the process would be:
1- connect the 2 6TB drives in each free bay

2- do raid 1 between them

3- move the information manually from raid 1 of the 4TB disks to the raid 1 of the 6TB disks

4- disconnect 4TB disks

is this correct? If so, what is the best way to move the info in step 3?

Hi @YuriEgorov3,

Will do, thanks Keerti!

Yes, the simple drag and drop will work using a PC.

You will REALLY want to have the PC hardwired to the network.

Best option is to actually use WINSCP and a SSH connection - with a nohub option. This cryptic mumbo jumbo boils down to issuing commands using a program called WINSCP. This will make the NAS copy the files over WITHOUT further involvement from the PC.
