WD My Cloud App

Hi.

One final problem:

I used to have my WD Wireless Pro connected to the “WD My Cloud” app on an android tablet.

Over the last day, I was forced to do a system reset and reconfigure the Wireless Pro. Now, I can no longer get the Wireless Pro onto the app. When I go through the “Add device” stage, I get an “unauthorized” message.

The Tablet is directly on the Wireless Pro sub-network, not the main house network.
The devices see each other → the wireless pro is an option to add to the app.

I have three other devices already added to the app (Two WD NAS boxes, and an older WD Wireless passport (not pro)).

SO. . I must be missing something simple.

BTW: I have tried this with both Twonky enabled, and with Plex enabled (obviously not at the same time).

Advice appreciated.

Uninstall and reinstall the MC app. Try this.

So - - I was about to try the uninstall app option.

But first I booted up the WD passport wireless. . . .and it suddenly succeeded in connecting to the MyCloud app.
The only difference was that I was in a different location, with WDPW not connected to an external network.

For giggles, I deleted the WDPW from the My cloud app, and then connected the WDPW to an external network (albeit not the one I was using last night)

   It worked again.

This is why I sometimes hate computers.
