Any suggestions with this problem would be most appreciated…
My “WD My Book Essential”, model ID WDBACW0030HBK-01, is no longer detected automatically when I power on my Win 10 laptop. I now have to pull the power cord from the back of the My Book and re-insert it. Then the drive is detected. Powering the My Book off and on with its rear mounted power button doesn’t do the trick.
I’ve made sure Win 10 is up to date. I’ve uninstalled all USB controllers etc in Device Manager and then re-booted to allow a fresh allocation of drivers. I’ve clicked “update driver” on each item to make sure Win 10 regards all drivers as the best / latest. I’ve also made sure the latest SES drivers are present and that “WD SES Device” shows up in Device Manager.
Not sure what else I can try… ?
