WD My Book Essential Fell. Intermittent Beeping when plugged in and not recognized

The drive took a fall onto the floor and now when plugged in it lights up, but beeps intermittently and does not get recognized by the PC.

Is there any way to possibly recovere any of the data? Removing the drive from the enclosure?

The drive is most likely damaged and beyond do it yourself recovery. Professionals may be able to get some data back with a clean room setup. If it’s a drive that came with Smartware removing drive from the case is a waste of time. The data is hardware encrypted and will be useless if recovered without the circuit board.
