WD My Book 320GB Does Not Boot under WIN7

Hi,

Would appreciate it if anyone could advise me what could be the problem with my WD 320GB HD that does not boot? The light on the ext. HD is on. However, there is no “Open to view folders” when I inserted the USB plug into the computer. Does it mean that “WD My Book Essentials 320GB” does not support WIN7? If so, are there any updated drivers that is available? Many thanks in advance for your help.

hi, first what youre talking about is the autorun, thats actually from windows…but quick question, do you have the model of the device? and also, are you able to see it under computer, disk management ettc?

Hi Moon1,

  1.  Thanks for your response. My WD model is My Book Essential, 320GB, WD3200C032-002, [deleted]

2)  No, I can’t see the ext HD icon under computer . The Ext HD is on, however, the HD icon does not appear under the computer heading.

Thanks very much. hope that answer is what you are looking for.
