I am getting the drive too hot warning for my WD MBL. I put a thermometer on it and the case registers at 90 degrees.
Is this a false alarm? What is the MAX safe tempure for the drive or case?

No idea if its a false alarm… but where are you storing the drive? Are you by chance laying it on its side?
It was on it’s side by my router. I shut the MBL off for an hour and let it cool down. When I restarted the drive I put it standing up. I have not had a heat warning after the restart.

Yeah - they aren’t made to sit on their side. It has to do with the way the vents are positioned I think.
Not sure if there are build in fans, probably one of them is not working?
No fans.
