I have a Wd green wd60ezrx 6TB 3.5in HDD that I recently bought that I can’t get Windows to recognize. I’m installing it into a Dell Optiplex 990 windows 7 64 legacy boot. I can see the drive in bios and I can see it when I use both windows 7 and 10 installation media but can’t install to it. I’ve tried formatting the drive and converting it to mbr and gpt but neither worked, although in gpt with Win 10 it could start to install but when windows restarts the computer to finish the installation I get a no bootable drive error. I don’t even want to install windows on it, I just want to get windows to recognize it so I can use it as storage. I’m usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out but this one is driving me nuts. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
