Wd external my book hd not found on windows 7

hi all.

Just plugged my old WD my book hard drive into new laptop running on windows7, it doesnt recognise it at all. Tried running new firmware update but recognise harddrive to update

Tried all different usb ports.

Works on old xp desktop upstairs.

Hi hunlom, try assigning a drive letter manually. Check the link below for more information.
