WD External Hard Drive not detected in PC but works fine on mobile OTG

I had purchased one WD Elements Portable 1TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive in Jun’15, but now it has suddenly stopped working. It happened when I ejected it from one laptop and connected it to the other one.

The light in it still blinks and I can hear the fan working when I connect it to my laptop. However, the hard disk doesn’t show up on ‘My Computer’. I can see my drive in Device Manager - Disk Drives.

The hard disk works just fine when I connect it to my mobile with the OTG cable.

I have tried with a different cable but there is no change.

My warranty is still there but I don’t want to take that step as I have tons of important data in it.

Are these two computers running different Operating Systems? Did you make sure that the hard drive was properly ejected prior to disconnecting it?
