WD External Hard Disk cannot be detected by my laptop and drive utilities

I have input the external hard disk into the USB port. However, it said there was an address mistake and I cannot use my passport at that time. After that, I open the hardware manager to see if it was still running. Yet, i cant find the existence of my passport. I have tried to open the drive utilitie. It still cannot detect my hardware as well. What can I do to solve the problem?
