Seems the older external drives are not compatible with windows 10. I have a lot of music stored on a wd external drive. any suggestions?

Which external hard drive is it? Have you tried to manually install the Windows 8 or Windows 7 drivers?
I have the WD My Essentials 3.0 USB and my backup hasn’t worked since I upgraded to Windows 10. Is there a patch to download so I can resume back up functions?
