WD external drive for DishTV

I have WD external drive for DishTV (My Book AV, (E101559) I want to change to DirectTV. How can I save my recordings from Dish? I will loose everything if I plug into another DVR.

Unfortunately i dont believe this is possible. I think as soon as you plug the drive to another DVR it will ask you to format it.
