WD EX4 remote acces from Windows

Hello everyone,

I have encounter a little problem with my EX4. A few days ago, I succed to reach it via the https protocol using a domaine. Yesterday, I tried to add a network drive with windows. So I use the domaine with the correct port but it fails with a windows error. So I tried to determinate if the problems comes from me or the network. I come back home, I allow the ftp connexion on the NAS and I tried a connexion with FileZila: new error → connexion refused.

So, I tried in local in my browser:

ftp://IP_OF_NAS:port_number

and I arrive on the index:

I have realised that I arrived on the page and windows doesn’t understand what to do and so refuse the connexion. Do you have an idea how to resolve it ?

Thank you in advance for help,

Phenix

Hi there, welcome to the community.

Did you set a share to be allowed for FTP access? Once you enable the FTP acces on the network settings you need to go to the shares to enable the access on a share and make sure that the user which you are using for FTP has access to that share.

Yeah, it’s right. Now, I can acces via my browser, but not with filezila  (and so with windows also)

I had a god idea, I think. I have copy/paste all the requests here. I have just remplaced my user name and my ip adress by *** ^^

As you can see, there is a first connection, but at a moment, the NAS refuses the connection. Why ? I don’t know

Hi, I have tried it and I was able to login. What version of filezilla are you running?

Check what it showed to me.

On the first try it failed, but then retried and was able to connect. What version of the firmware are you running? Also, Check your filezilla settings, under tranfer go to File Types, and on the default transfer type set it up as ASCII, and see if it makes a difference.

Hi,

Sorry for my late answer. I was very busy with my university projects and I had many dealines. I’m using the last version of filezila (3.14.1) an I have tried with ASCII.

I have the terrible sensation that the problem comes from the NAS and not the protocol. But I don’t know if someone else had the problem and manages to fixe it with this idea :stuck_out_tongue:

To you think it’s possible that there is a difference with chrome ? Because, it’s work with chrome but not with any other software ><

Thank you for your help ^^
