WD EX2 & Cataolina

Hi Guys, i have a a very reliable WD EX2 which i purchased in 2015, i using it with latest version of Catalina on my Mac. I have checked on the WD site and it looks like the my WD is no longer supported. Having no software to use this drive, does indicate i need to replace this drive ? ( apologies i ma tech hopeless ). I used the WD for my musics, HD Files, ripped CD’s via my Time Machine. At this point how do i get my Music files of the WD when i come to replace the unit if necessary without software for the WD ? Thanks
