WD Elements USB 3, 1TB, structure is corrupted and unreadable, Please help

I’ve a WD Elements USB 3, 1TB. My issue is that when I plug the drive into my computer’s USB, the drive showing connected, but once I click on it to access data showing popup “Location is not available” “The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable”.  

  1. The light on the Elements drive is on when the cable is inserted into the USB drive.
  2. I’ve tried the original cable as well as a new cable. Neither seems to make a difference
  3. The device showing in the device manager
  4. I’ve reinstalled the driver from this website on multiple computers and none work.

Any help would be insanely appreciated. I have nearly all of my work is stored on the drive.

Will I be able to retrieve my data with some data recovery software?

Please help.

Maybe TestDisk  http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk will fix it.
