Hey guys this is the roblem with my elements play when i connect it to my ultrabook it comes up in my computer as wd ekments play and I can open the drive I have folders on it for movies tv shows etc…
When I go to openn one of the folders so I can see what files are on it windows explorer stops working and I just get the spinning circle in windows 7 and I cant open any of the folders to view the files also I can’t copy any files onto the drive either
Sometimes it will say I nee administrator permission to copy something onto the drive and if it does let me put something on the drive it won’t copy into the folder I want to put it in it will start to copy it just onto the drive the it freezes afain
when I unplug the drive when windows exlorer freezes it goes back to normal windows explorer with the drive disconnected
anyeway hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for any help on this.

If you are familiar with Linux, try mounting it from there … But I have little hope for you.
The symptoms you describe are typical for a disk with I/O errors: Windows virtually freezes while waiting for the disk to respond.
