I recently brought WD Elements 2TD which was working fine in Windows 7. I then formated to on my mac - working fine but now not recognizing in Windows 7. Please help as I want it to work on both - mac and windows 7
It’s probably the partitioning for Mac. To use on both you can partition FAT32 and use in both Mac and Windows the downside is it has a max file size of 4 Gig. You could repartiton NTFS and download an app from Apple NTFS-3G http://community.wdc.com/t5/External-Drives-for-Mac/WD-My-Book-Elite-Using-on-a-Mac-amp-PC/m-p/92308#M1894 see post 6. The second one will probably be best.
